We begin our project in The Woodlands Cemetery of West Philadelphia one October afternoon.
It was here at 3819 Powelton Avenue Philadelphia Pennsylvania, where Joseph Potter was born to John and Rebecca Potter. The family lived here from Josephs birth and moved before 1880.
The family lived at their residence on 3437 Market Street after moving from Powelton Ave until 1880.
The family resided in 3841 Baring Street from 1872-1880. This is where John and Rebecca Potter would live until Johns death.
Joseph Potter started his employment for Folwell Bro & Co. as a clerk at 229 Market Street Philadelphia Pennsylvania. A position he would hold from 1872 until 1873.
Joseph Potter moved from his parents house to 24 N 39th Street in 1873 but only resided there until 1874.
In 1874 Joseph Potter was promoted to salesman at Folwell Bro & Co. The offices moved to 819 Market Street Philadelphia PA.
From 1875-1878 Joseph Potter resided once more in his childhood household at 3819 Powelton Avenue.
From 1879 to 1883 Jospeh Potter moved back in with his parents at 3841 Baring Street.
From 1884 to 1886 Jospeh Potter resided at 4802 Hancock Street with his family. From our understanding Hancock used to be a small side street in West Philadelphia seeing as though in present day Hancock runs parallel to 48th Street.
Joseph Potter only resided one year at School Lane and Morris Street in 1887.
Joseph Potter was promoted to Secretary and treasurer of Folwell Bro. & Co. and the offices were located at 625 Chestnut Street. He held this position and worked here from 1888 to his death in 1919.
Joseph Potter began living on Tulpehocken Street in 1888 at 56 West Tulpehocken Street. He moved from this house in 1891.
Joseph Potter resided at 110 West Tulpehocken Street from 1891 to 1895.
As Joseph Potter began working for Girard Life Insurance Company in 1913, their offices located at 2020 Chestnut Street. He would work here as Treasurer until 1917.
Joseph Potter resided at 225 West Tulpehocken Street from 1896 to his death in 1919. It is here that his son would die, he would do business, and he would meet his second wife.
